I made this wooden flag from wood my dad found on the side of the road. I think it is from a backyard deck someone took down. I'm glad whoever it was pulled each board off one by one. As they say, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." The frame is made from old privacy fence planks.
The star is cut like a puzzle piece and laid in. I used a cardboard pattern for the star, grain horizontal - then the blue, vertical. 1/8 plywood as a backing.
How did you get the wood grain on the star to lay horizontally when the rest of the blue has vertical grain???
